ID Card Generator
Prepare, preview, and print student identity cards in batches.
Prepare Student Data First
ID cards are only as accurate as the student records behind them. Before generating cards, review the student profile fields that should appear on the card, such as name, class, section, roll number, guardian name, contact number, and photo.
- Use consistent admission or roll numbers.
- Check spelling of names before printing a full class batch.
- Confirm student photos are clear and correctly assigned.
- Review the school logo and school profile details.
Generate a Batch of ID Cards
- Open the ID Card Generator module.
- Select the class and section you want to print.
- Fetch or load the student list.
- Select individual students or choose the full class.
- Preview the cards before sending them to the printer.
- Print a test page, then continue with the complete batch.
Choose Card Details Carefully
A clean card is more useful than a crowded one. Include only the fields the school actually needs for identification and contact. For many schools, the best card includes student name, class, roll/admission number, school name, student photo, and a guardian contact number.
Printing Recommendations
Before printing on expensive paper or plastic sheets, print one normal paper test. Check margins, photo quality, orientation, and whether text is readable at actual card size.
- Use high-quality photos with the student's face centered.
- Keep the printer scaling set to actual size when possible.
- Use the same paper size selected inside the app.
- Print one class at a time to make sorting easier.
Common ID Card Issues
Student Missing from the List
Check that the student is assigned to the selected class and section and is not marked inactive or withdrawn.
Photo Does Not Appear
Open the student profile and confirm the photo was saved. If the image is too large or corrupted, replace it with a clear JPEG or PNG photo.
Cards Print Too Large or Too Small
Review printer scaling settings. Browser or PDF viewers can sometimes apply "fit to page" and change the intended layout.
Quality Checklist
- School logo is sharp and not stretched.
- Student names are readable at card size.
- All selected students belong to the correct class.
- Emergency contact details are current.
- Printed cards are sorted before laminating or distribution.
