Installation Guide

Prepare Windows, install the app, and confirm the first launch.

Before You Install

School Management Pro is designed for Windows desktop use and keeps school records on the local device. Before installing it on an office computer, confirm that the machine is reliable, used by authorized staff, and included in your normal backup routine.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11.
  • Processor: 1 GHz or faster x64 processor.
  • Memory: 4 GB minimum; 8 GB is recommended for larger schools.
  • Storage: At least 500 MB free for the app, plus extra space for backups.
  • Display: A desktop or laptop screen is recommended for data-entry work.

Recommended Installation Method

The Microsoft Store version is the preferred installation path because Windows handles the package, updates, and license ownership through the signed-in Microsoft account.

  1. Open the Microsoft Store on the target Windows PC.
  2. Search for School Management Pro.
  3. Open the product page and select Buy or Install.
  4. Wait for Windows to complete the installation.
  5. Launch the app from the Start Menu and pin it if staff will use it daily.

Using the Store version also reduces SmartScreen warnings and makes future updates easier for non-technical staff.

First Launch Checklist

After installation, open the app once before handing the computer to office staff. This helps you catch permission or runtime problems while setup help is still available.

  1. Confirm the app opens without a Windows security warning.
  2. Check that the dashboard loads and navigation is responsive.
  3. Create or review the admin login details.
  4. Open the school profile area and confirm that text fields save correctly.
  5. Create a test backup so you know the selected backup location is writable.
Tip: If the school uses one main computer for fee collection, install and test the app on that exact machine. Backup and printer behavior can differ between office computers.

Common Installation Issues

Windows SmartScreen Warning

If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning for a direct installer, choose More info only if you trust the source, then continue. The Microsoft Store version is recommended because it is distributed through Microsoft's app channel.

WebView2 Runtime Message

Some Windows 10 installations may require Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Windows 11 usually includes it. If the app asks for WebView2, install the runtime from Microsoft and relaunch the app.

App Does Not Open

  • Restart Windows and try again.
  • Install pending Windows updates.
  • Confirm antivirus software has not quarantined the app.
  • Try launching from the Start Menu instead of a copied shortcut.

Updates and Reinstallation

When installed from the Microsoft Store, updates are usually handled automatically. If a computer is offline for long periods, connect it to the internet occasionally and check the Store's update page. Before reinstalling or moving to another PC, create a fresh backup and verify that it can be copied to external storage.
